Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
Let him score his 100th goal against Leicester, i'm sure he will too. Even Nolan is better than Wes Morgan

Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
The game was very very poor and to say Nolan is upping his game is laughable!

You've gone back to the language of the last time Nolan was a Premier League player there in support eh Eternal?

Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
Nolan is a great captain/leader and has great character.

However, he is simply not a premiership player any more - at least as far as a starting 11 is concerned.

His inclusion in the side not sucks the life out of our midfield because of his lack of pace and mobility and - more importantly - the team is reorganised from a winning formula to accommodate him (e.g. Downing playing on the wing instead of the tip of the diamond).

This is not his fault, though. He is a professional footballer who wants to play. Can't fault him for that.

The responsibility lies totally with a stubborn and unimaginative manager who insists on picking him not on merit but simply because of the longstanding relationship they have - at the expense of the team.

Unfortunately, booing Nolan has become the only way that some fans can voice their frustration at a selection that is bordering on the corrupt.

Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
Unfortunately he had a decentish game the other week so is a shoeing to be in the team for teh rest of the season...

Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
Nolan's has been better of late but the con's still vastly outweigh the pro's as far as his performances go.

He should not, in most circumstances, be picked!

He's employed to play for us so it's not his fault he is probably the first name on the team sheet !!!

Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
Has never lost it in my eyes. Clearly on the back 9 as a Prem player, but has been fucking immense for us since arriving...

Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
He tried hard, played better than some matches earlier but still not good enough. The formation isnt his fault though but i would have kept Jarvis on ... for a while and then brought on Morgan.

I would never boo one of our players but a manager ... yes and a team performance. There was a lot of booing of Nolan on Saturday but then i realised that this was from Sunderland fans who clearly see him as Newcastle.

Just so slowwwwwwwww

Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
We should never boo our own players.

I cannot see anything wrong with booing a managers decision or a bad overall performance but we should encourage not discourage our individual players.

bushey would you like him even more as a woman?

Sven Roeder 10:57 Mon Mar 23
Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
I am hoping he can score his 100th Premier league goal in one of the remaining home matches and receive the appropriate thanks that he and Sam deserve as they move on at the end of the season.

Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
I've always liked Nolan as a man... And would never boo him on or off a football pitch.

Always gives 100% as well.

But as a footballer, these days expecially, he is very limited and should benowhere near our starting XI with everyone fit.

The manager though, has another view altogether.

Fivetide 10:54 Mon Mar 23
Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
He has played well in his last few. I'd back him to lead a team to promotion from the Championship next year. If I managed any of those team just outside the playoff spots he'd be my first choice to spearhead a push to the Premier League.

W6Hammer 10:49 Mon Mar 23
Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
I would prefer he is only used as a sub from now on unless he has to play due to injuries.

LeroysBoots 10:43 Mon Mar 23
Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
Maybe just maybe the dramatic loss in Nolan's influence on the pitch is due to his years of abusing his body whilst off the pitch ?

There you go then?

Also, what has a delivery from a set piece got to do with our general play?

Your knowledge of football actually offends me.

OM, one i think as he was usurped from taking any others !

CDFG 10:36 Mon Mar 23
Re: Nolan clawing back respect?
Agree Leroy... Was surprised BFS took off Jarvis instead of Nolan.. The 1st half very much passed him by, I counted he touched the ball 3 TIMES...

To be fair he was slightly better 2nd half & it was a penalty but by bringing on CFC you don't take off a winger but hey what do I know !!!!!
